Login ID
Club/Association Administration Users
Your Login ID will be an alpha-numeric string (which has been assigned to you by either ResultsVault, or another ResultsVault user).
If you have not been provided this, or your password, you cannot login to ResultsVault.
There is no limit to the number of accounts that a club or association can create. For maximum security, and auditing, only one person should
use each login.
Players
Your Login ID is a number (which is your ResultsVault player ID that is listed at the bottom of your Player report - access via the Statistics menu).
ResultsVault can automatically create a player login and password, provided that the club has entered a valid email address against the player.
To create the account use the Forgotten Your Password feature from the login page (using your player ID as the Login ID).
Your account is automatically created, and your password emailed.
Passwords
Passwords should be more than 5 characters, and should not be something that is easy to guess, or a word found in the dictionary.
Ideally passwords should contain a mixture of letters and numbers.
Case sensitivity
ResultsVault Login IDs and passwords are NOT case sensitive.
Account lock out
For security reasons we lock your account after three successive unsuccessful login attempts. Before this happens you should
use the Forgotten Your Password feature from the login page to generate an email containing your password. If your account
is locked, contact your ResultsVault Club or Association manager (not ResultsVault!) who can unlock your account.
ResultsVault gives no guarantees about response times for unlocking accounts,
and will only unlock accounts in exceptional circumstances.
Time outs
In most cases, if you don't hit an administration page within 20 minutes, your login will time out and you will need to login again.
Some pages have longer timeout settings.
Trouble logging in, even if login details correct
Typically this is caused by not having cookies enabled on your browser, these need to be enabled for you to continue.
For Internet Explorer 6
IE6 introduced new privacy settings that restricted the use of cookies.
- Go to Tools>Internet options>Privacy>
- If the setting is at Medium, Low, or "Accept all cookies" then you should be OK.
Otherwise, if you are having problems, and do not wish to Accept All Cookies:
- Press Edit
- Type admin.resultsvault.com
- Press 'Allow'.
For Internet Explorer 5.5 or earlier
- Go to Tools>Internet Options>Security
- Ensure that the slider is set to at least “Medium”
- Also, Click on “Custom Level” and scroll down until you find “Cookies” –
there are 3 sub options within this section – ensure that they are all set to “enabled”.
For Netscape
- Go to Edit>Preferences>select “Advanced" in the left window (double click for Netscape6, double click "Privacy and Security" option for Netscape 6.1).
- For Netscape6 click on the sub-menu item named "cookies".
- Select the "accept all cookies option" in the right window and press “OK”.
Firewalls/Cookie cleaner tools
Some programs which intercept and prevent cookies may also interfere with logging into ResultsVault.
For example, ZoneAlarm has features which restrict cookies.
In most cases, if you wish to use this feature to restrict cookies, it is possible
to add sites to an 'exclusion' list, so that cookies are less restricted from those sites. Our sites
- www.resultsvault.com and admin.resultsvault.com
should be added to the exclusion list if possible.
Please consult the program documentation for your firewall product or contact us.
